About Mmutla

Mmutla is building EVs designed for African realities — durable, efficient and beautiful. Our Harrismith base sits on the N3/N5 corridor for national logistics and MAP-SEZ access.

Model Lineup

City Car • Compact SUV • Electric Minibus • Small Bakkie • Bakkie • Luxury Sedan. All models feature right-hand drive interiors and a unified brand face.

Baseline Performance

0–100 km/h in ≤ 5.0 s and ≥ 450 km real-world range are our baseline targets across the lineup.

Factory & SEZ

We’re progressing our Maluti-a-Phofung SEZ plan for CKD/SKD assembly, testing labs, and training. Prototype acceleration, factory planning, and tech transfer are in scope.

  • Site: Harrismith, Free State (N3/N5 hub)
  • Focus: chassis tuning, E/E architecture, safety, homologation
  • Jobs: local skills development & supplier growth

G20 Sustainability & African Industrial Leadership

Mmutla Electric Vehicles is directly aligned with G20 2025–2027 sustainability mandates for clean mobility, green industrialisation, and global climate cooperation. While the world moves towards a carbon-neutral future, Africa must not be left behind — and through Mmutla, it won’t be.

This project is more than manufacturing. It is a statement of African capability, Bafokeng resilience, Phoka heritage, and the vision of Modise Mofokeng — building the first EVs engineered for African roads, powered by African labour, and produced in the Maluti-a-Phofung SEZ.

Chinese partners and global investors who collaborate now join at the foundation of Africa’s first electric vehicle movement — a movement that will shape transport, energy, and economic identity for generations. Those who hesitate will one day say: “We were approached first… and we hesitated.”

MMUTLA IS NOT JUST AN EV — IT IS A LEGACY. THE LEGACY MOVES.

Charging & Energy

We’re planning visible DC fast-charging on key corridors and fleet depots, with solar + storage options to reduce Eskom dependency.

  • Target: 15 kW & 22 kW taxi-rank chargers; 50–100 kW corridor sites
  • Standards: CCS2, OCPP, OTA-enabled chargers
  • Partners: open to OEM/utility collaboration
